Seriously?! I’m not a religious man, but mother of god! Could they not find someone from a less tainted organisation? I mean, I’m surprised that Tusla hasn’t been rebranded and given a lick of paint to try to get people to forget about the shit show they are.

This is, believe it or not, good news for the HSE.
Tusla has been a dumpster fire, but Gloster has at least left it better than he found it. Things have stopped getting worse, and in some places are getting better. Many of the issues with Tusla are also beyond his control and shouldn’t be laid at his door. They are far from perfect, but without Gloster they would have been significantly worse. He is turning an oil tanker and it takes time.
With this move he is moving from one dumpster fire to another. He did well in tusla considering where it started, hopefully he can if not improve the HSE then at least stop it getting worse.
