Other “high demand” vacancies are also being fast-tracked.

Just thought I’d share if anyone is considering the move Down Under. Australia is absolutely desperate for workers.

Come on down! It’s nice here.

  1. Sort housing crisis out first. That’s the major issue. No nurse/teacher in their 30’s should be forced to be still living with their parents…

  2. Aargh don’t highlight this, it’s impossible to get good teachers right now. Literally nobody wants to do it

  3. Didn’t realize teachers could work as teachers over there. Presumably it’s a lot easier to register than with our teaching council here in Ireland?

  4. I keep seeing recruitment ads for other countries. The Australian ones seem to be everywhere but I’v also been seeing a danish ad for trades people. I hope Ireland is advertising as heavily abroad.. we could have a serious crisis if significant numbers of professionals and trades people emigrate.

  5. I’ve gotten emails recently about interviews for nursing in Australia which are offering a $10000 relocation bonus and possibility of 3 months free accommodation for some of the roles on top of the Australian nurses salary which is much better than here. No wonder it’s hard to get nursing staff to stay here!

  6. The tragedy of this is that the political choices of this generations parents and grandparents is what is forcing them to leave. Cue the party shills. Save yourself the bother lads.

  7. I’m swamped with ads and videos etc encouraging me to go work in Australia.

What’s going on over there? Why are they so desperate for workers?

  8. “The list included occupations such as engineers, chefs, accountants, psychiatrists, programmers and pharmacists. It also included healthcare workers such as nurses and doctors, but not teachers.”

    BUT NOT TEACHERS…

  9. I worked in Oz for 5 years, up in Brissie. Go and sample the lifestyle, but don’t go thinking it’s some sort of Utopia. It’s a bloody expensive place to live, with its own housing crisis going on. Bring lots of Factor 50.
