  1. Seems like a weird way to decide if something is a genocide. I suppose it’s a nice way to poke Putin in the eye, but has it got meaning outside of that? My understanding, from reading /r/askhistorians is that historians don’t really have consensus on the issue.

    (I am pro Ukraine/ anti-Putin)

  2. How could someone from a country such as ours, that *also experienced a famine that was arguably genocide*, think this doesn’t apply?

On that note, the EU should have a similar motion for An Gorta Mór.

  3. Her support for all things Russian is undeniable at this stage. The question is, is she just a useful idiot for Putin or is she getting anything in return?

  4. Brussels would want to start looking into her next when they’re done with the current corrupt gobshites

  5. I know absolutely nothing about the Holodomor famine or whether it was a genocide or not.

Has the EU Parliament discussed whether the Irish Famine was a genocide or not? Why not I wonder? Could it be because it was ages ago, it is not a pressing issue, and it would demonise Britain – not currently a country we are being encouraged to hate? Is this debate really the most pressing issue for the EU? Or is this just another cheap and easy way to demonise Russia?

I find it so humiliating how easily the public is made to hate whoever it is convenient to hate this month and how enthusiastically people comply. It’s like the U.S. in the 50s for christ sake
