Power to the people: the neighbours turning their London street into a solar power station

  1. Fascinating article, thank you for sharing

Wish the team well, hope that the 30 signed up households have their solar installed soon and the neighbouring communities expressing interest are successful too.

Fuck this government for making this kind of positive story an exception rather than the rule.

  2. > The Power Station may not be actively producing energy just yet, but it has generated an idea that is already flowing to the rest of the area.

I wonder if the delay has more to do with the fact they still need to connect to the national grid or risk being shut out from said grid due to anti-competition law?

Seems like a disguised drive to hook their neighbours/readers into solar without informing them of the small print.

  3. That article was pretty awful to read, i dont think the author knew what they were talking about.

Hopefully i got this right, they are aiming to install separate solar systems on separate houses giving away money form their art/crowdfunding alongside bulk ordering to bring down prices. They aspire to some kind of local network with battery storage, but cant seem to get that working.

If im right then all the best to them, its great they are leading a project like this, having recently had solar panels myself I wish i had support like this, it was such a big learning curve
