Now they have totally convinced me that climate action is inevitable /s
I am not sympathizing very much with their methods but I have to give them that their justification is not entirely senseless: They say they tried to protest in a more peaceful way and nothing changed and now they switched to methods that create way more attention.
The thing is that this now creates a stupid pseudo-debate again while the necessary shift in convictions is not happening (at least not far enough) among big parts of western societies.
Unfortunately still most people dont realize that not only a fundamental shift in the energy system needs to happen, but also in the whole economic system. While corperate PR and politics is talking nonstop about sustainability, we couldn’t be further away from it. And with ever increasing consumption and shrinking product life-time its not even going in the right direction. (But hey, we are banning plastic straws, see we are doing “something” lol)…
