How do you call these? I just called them “Śmieciogrzebki” in front of my friends and they say no one says that. Am I crazy? Does anyone else call them śmieciogrzebki?

  4. Never heard that before. Surely you would want full gloves (with fingertips) while handling rubbish/garbage.

  5. Why would anyone go through trash in fingerless gloves?

    I heard them being called “przekupki” because these are being worn by “Przekupa” – typically older lady selling stuff at a local market. When it’s cold they sometimes wear them while still having some agility in their fingers required for trading.

    Besides, “śmieciogrzebki” does not sound like an actual historical word.

  30. I bought some this month (Czech republic) since I wanted to comfortably use my phone with gloves, and also my hands were slipping on the steering wheel with normal gloves.

    Now my fingers are freezing. Getting ice off my windshield in the morning results in my fingers hurting like hell. The steering wheel freezes my fingers too. This sucks, this for mild winters, I’m going back to normal gloves.
