Pinnekjøtt that I made out of spite because it is impossible to reserve christmas dinner for one.

  1. I am from Oslo, so I eat pinnekjøtt, but I am not born with the pinnekjøtt tradition.

    But I would still go out on a limb here and say that is not pinnekjøtt.

    And what is that thick sauce supposed to be?

    (Red wine and no boiled potatos is weird too, but…)

  2. Mashed rutabaga, check. Pinnekjøtt, check. No potatoes and chocolate sauce?!!

    I usually make a thin roux using the melted fat from pinnekjøtt, and a bit of flour. It turns into a blonde translucent roux that adds some hint of mutton and saltiness. It’s really good as a condiment for the potatoes.

    Other then then missing potatoes and the sauce it looks smashing. I also hope you don’t drink red wine out of that glass, and I hope you own a table. If not, perfect thing to ask for xmas!
