I’m from Canada and was surprised at how low wages are in Europe for trades people. I make $50 ($36 US)/hour and people from Europe were surprised that a blue collar worker makes that much (I fix and install air conditioners and heating systems). But compared to the U.S, our wages are trash
Swedish Empire shall never be forgotten
What’s the source exactly? I don’t see any OECD data that places Switzerland lower than Canada.
Canada is well-positioned geographically. Two coasts, large amount of natural resources, right next to the world’s largest economy.
Do you have a direct link to the data? I can’t find the page about median individual disposable income on the OECD website, only information about household disposable income (OECD defines households as both one person households and 2+ people households).
In the household net adjusted disposable income dataset, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Iceland, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, and Luxembourg all rank higher than Canada.
How come Switzerland worse then anybody else?
Looks like the cover art for Dragon Age: Origins.
Neat.
Canada’s median income higher than that of Switzerland?
I think its safe to say the no data countries are all pretty red
Impressive. Very nice. Let’s how many % of their salary an average Canadian can save after paying rent and buying food.
The no data countries just didn’t have a dark enough red to use
“Median equivalent adult income”

There only Luxemburg, Norway and USA rank higher than Canada.
Gray countries – So, you’re saying there’s a chance?
On the bright side, government buildings and police officers over here do not display LGBTQ+ flags and persecute preachers who oppose this ideology that hurts people attracted to the same sex and the society at large.
I guess there’s a reason they call it *Luxe*-mbourg.
This is a competition for countries with oil, apparently
Don’t think we don’t see you, Luxembourg…
I am so shocked to see this map….Bosnia is not anymore in “no data” category?
Holy shit,this is huge.
Canadian here. Curious if European countries have suffered the same degree of wage/salary stagnation that we have.

This picture raises so many red flags…
