>A statement issued by the force said the Crown Prosecution Service had authorised a charge against Mr Bah of knowingly facilitating the attempted arrival in the UK of people he knew or had reasonable cause to believe were asylum seekers.
I’m a bit confused – seeking asylum in the UK isn’t illegal so why is it illegal to help facilitate their arrival? I’m guessing there’s a reason for it, but it just seems like a strange law on the surface. Surely charities like amnesty international who help asylum seekers would be breaking this law from time to time too then?
Knowing our judges he will be released on bail anyway so will just slip back out to France and disappear
