  1. Its a great thing to do, but equally sad that underfunding public services results in members of the public having to shoulder the burden in addition to paying the very taxes that are intended to ensure that public services are properly funded…

    It’s all so dystopian.

  2. Most NHS trusts now offer food banks for staff and are offering financial advice for staff on top of that. Considering we also have access to the Blue Light card for discounts at various places on top of that, the fact that NHS staff are still living in poverty is a disgrace. NHS staff should not need to resort to charities for the basics (no one should, of course), yet here we are. This is why so many vacancies in the NHS will remain unfilled. Why work for it when it simply does not pay enough for people to live on?
