  1. I quite enjoy a mixed mode, for certain things being in an office together is better (e.g., whiteboard meetings, to generate ideas) but for many other things home office is just as good (if not better, due to slightly more freedom).

Personally I do 2 in office and 3 at home, which works perfectly for me.

  2. Because we don’t get interrupted all the damn time. Instead I get calls all the damn time and meetings scheduled. No more getting stopped at the coffee machine to hear the latest gossip.
But seriously, I don’t want to go back fulltime to the office. Or parttime. Leave me with my WFH office that has been transformed in the past few years to my needs.

  3. Especially in IT, when WFH I manage to get one interrupted 4hour coding session per day where I’m able to be fully focused instead of getting interrupted with questions every 30minutes that make me lose my focus. By the time you’re back in the zone after a distraction, the next distraction is already there. I can do more in half a day from home than a full day in the office. I feel like some companies don’t understand how being able to fully focus on something without distractions improves productivity by a lot.

  4. Makes sense. Better rested and happier because no commute, easier to focus because no walking or talking around you. I have sensory issues, and at home, I adjust the lights, heating, noise, etc. just the way I want it.

  5. Because people are more productive at home so it’s harder to push off bonus and wage increases.

And there’s no fun in being a manager if there’s no one to flaunt that badge to.

  6. Maybe offices can stop doing the whole “open plan office” thing so It doesn’t sound like you’re trying to write code in the middle of a busy supermarket

I get more done at home because there’s not a constant passing of people behind me, or 20 different convos going on around me
