  1. Some last minute entrants into this years Darwin Awards.

I have given up feeling any sort of sympathy for these people.

  2. While they’re at it, perhaps they could issue some warnings against jumping off tall buildings and setting oneself on fire.

  3. I may go to hell for bringing this up. But I would love to have this exact same attitude to people taking drugs. Don’t do it, but we can’t stop you.

  4. I’ll admit I once walked on our pond thst had frozen over, after my dad warned. Me not to. I subsequently went under. Luckily my dad saw me go in and dragged me out. Safe to say, I’ll never do it again.

  5. COVID taught us that plenty of people are quite happy to ignore health and safety advice unless forced to by law. A group of kids dying is not enough to stop people being morons.

  6. I assume that these people weren’t watching the news on Monday. The two families and their friends must be pulling their hair out at this.

  7. As kids remember messing about on frozen lakes. Used to stay away from the parts we knew were ‘thin’, we had no idea how lucky we were. Clearly remember standing on a bridge and watching a friend run across narrow part of lake next to footbridge, I pointed out I could see a ‘wave’ of ice in front of him as he ran across, it was thin there he got away with just a wet leg.

  8. If your doing this for some dumbass reason just remeber the code of the ice thin and crispy way to risky thick and blue tide and true

Just don’t go on the ice

  9. The day after that tragic accident, school kids threw a 11 year old girl into the lake in a park in Hull, Police are trying to trace the culprits.

Now a motor boat crew are driving around the lake on school days breaking the ice.

  10. Some dog walkers have no sense either letting their dogs in Lakes both in winter and summer even.
