with all the domestic problems we have, I think we should drop worrying so much about this and tackle our own problems of homelessness, food bank reliance and so on.
The government does not want to learn lessons though, not ones that would see things improve for those trying to cross the Channel at least. Learning a lesson would imply that the Tories want things to change for the better, something anyone could tell you is not the plan. The Tories want to be tougher on Channel crossings, so any lessons learnt will be on how to punish those crossing the Channel even more than they are now.
