Christmas in Switzerland would not be complete without the 1973 Czech-German Christmas film “Three Gifts for Cinderella”, in which three enchanted hazelnuts make all the heroine’s dreams come true. But even without any magic, the hazelnut is a remarkable fruit.

I have never seen this movie on christmass. Who has?
In Poland we watch Home Alone at a particular tv station. It turned into a running joke and when the station did6 schedule it once, a big protest happened amd people mailed them to air the movie
I’ve seen this movie a few times but I didn’t know it was a Christmas tradition
Declined because there’s too little diversity in the movie. Where are the black, Indian, hispanic and Asian actors? Where are the obligatory gay, lesbian and transgender characters? Kissing men is obligatory in a movie in the age of Netflix. Where are the self-righteous feminist characters? All women are pretty and slim.. Why are the ugly and obese not represented? I can’t show such a movie to my kids.
we watch it every christmas. But maybe because half my family comed from austria. It is really a must
Aaaah Family tradition, most who never heard are probably younger than I
Home Alone or go home.
Aschenbrödel! My wife from East Germany introduced this to me last season to contribute to my many efforts to inculcate myself into Swiss/German culture. Classic, might be due for another watch.

I’m Slovak and this is the best Christmas fairytale. It’s a total cult classic in all of former Czechoslovakia.
