As an outsider, this seems to be a commentary on the differences between early Islam and early Christianity (Catholicism) versus modern Islam and modern Christianity. With some perhaps anti-Polish sentiment thrown in? Or at least, anti-“current Polish establishment”

Much of the scientific advancements in the medieval and renaissance time came from religious men like Galileo, Sir Francis Bacon, Copernicus, Descartes, Fr. Georges Lemaitre, Bishop Nicolas Steno, and countless Jesuits. The modern university system was even started by Catholic religious orders, and those famous scientists were formed in Catholic education.
