The decline in natural gas prices is slowly getting passed on to customers. The price of new natural gas contracts in Germany is now 8 % lower than it was 1 year ago on the same day

obviously, this is still 3.5 times higher than normal, but remember than inflation is *change* in prices
also, you can see on the graph the impact that the throtling and then total cut of flows through Nordstream had on natural gas prices, and Germany and the rest of Europe was desperate and willing to pay any price to have its gas storage filled up for winter
**but because we are starting 2023 with gas storage almost 88% vs 54% last year, german companies have all the year at disposal to refill their storage and to arrange shipments for winter**
meanwhile, my next bill is going up by 20% :I
