Volodymyr Zelensky is urging Rishi Sunak to stay strong in support of Ukraine amid reports he has ordered a review on the progress of the war.
Mr Sunak’s request for a progress report, as reported by the BBC, has left Whitehall sources concerned the government could be primed to take a more cautious approach as the war intensifies.
“President Zelensky has sensed what is going on,” a Whitehall source told the BBC.”So he has been talking to Rishi. He is trying to inspire him, saying the UK are the great liberators, the great fighters. We need you. Rise to that.”
The source said the audit is designed to look at how the war is progressing and the UK’s contribution to Ukraine.
However, they dismissed it as akin to “Goldman Sachs dashboard” – out of touch with how wars are fought.
A Downing Street responded to the claims by saying that Mr Sunak was not being overly cautious and that “the UK government’s support for Ukraine is unwavering”.
Should give Ukraine whatever they need to get the job done. For the sake of sending a bunch of our older equipment–which, are due to be phased out for newer stuff like Boxers in the coming years.

We can help Ukraine defeat Russia and basically remove them as a threat for the coming decades.

Give them everything they need. If Rishi doesn’t want to spend money, fine–send some of the old Warriors, Scimitars, FV 430S etc.
Zelensky’s continued his love-in with Boris even now. He should have realised he needs to suck up to No 10’s current occupant.

I’d prefer if the UK government spent it’s money in the UK rather than getting involved in a conflict between two backwards, corrupt, shithole countries.
The interests of arms dealers are clearly more important though.
Waver. Not waiver.
Waiver is a noun.

The only thing Tory did right is their stance on Ukraine
If you had a choice between a heated home with cheap gas, or a Free Ukraine and a cold home, you’ll find Ukraine is already Russian while the people are kept nice and warm at home, the people will place their survival above others, every single time, do I feel sorry for the Ukrainians? I do, but I can also feel the cold loving embrace of death and I rather be warm.
rish bag wondering how he can get that russian bribe money back in before the next election campaign starts.
First backing the Return of the Clown after Truss, now this. I mean come on. You’re worried British support could waver and you think the answer is to intervene on behalf of a shitty party of amoral jackals on the way out? Stop trying to negatively influence our politics for your own interests, and maybe our support would be in no danger of wavering.
I respect and admire you Zelenskyy, but maybe leave British politics to us.
Zelensky needs to talk to the chef, not the waiter. The White House phone number is available online.
