Jail for armed gang who Googled ‘how do police investigate armed robberies?’

  1. I’ll be honest, this makes me want to Google how do police investigate armed robberies.

I wonder if it’s anything like how they investigate break-ins. Doing nothing and just send someone down to take inventory for all stolen good for the purpose of insurance

  2. This is why you should fill your Search History with terms that make it clear you’re innocent. I.E ‘How do you NOT perform an armed robbery’. Check mate when that comes up in court.

  3. It seems like there was a lot of investigation done to narrow down suspects before the police looked into what they were googling. Which is kind of a relief for me.

I’ve googled a lot of things that might look shady out of context. Like, I wanted to get a better understanding of the arguments over the decriminalisation/legalisation of prostitution, and wound up googling specifics of what counts as pimping and what constitutes a brothel. How civil forfeiture works in relation to prostitution etc. A lot of stuff that would be very useful for a pimp to know.

I was also worried about the possibility of 3D printed guns, which led me to a lot of suspicious websites while I was trying to figure out whether or not it would be practical.

I don’t want police raiding my house and seizing my property. So I’m hoping they don’t track everyone who looks up a wikihow on armed robbery.
