23 years minimum. That means he’ll be out potentially when he’s 53, with a reasonable amount of life ahead of him. What a joke.

I just think to my partner and how this could have been her with an ex bf or even an ex gf of mine meeting a new partner.
You’d like to think prison will be brutal for him but it’s filled with equally disgusting people so probably not.
Seems to be real sentencing discrepancy issues with the murder of young women – Megan’s killer gets 23 years min, Sabina Nessa’s killer get 36 years min, Zara Aleena’s killer gets 38 years min and Jacqueline Forest’s killer gets min 28 years.
Whilst I understand previous history has to be taken into account, but in all instances women under 35 (when the average woman lives 80 years) lost their lives to sexually sadistic men who were strangers or partners. Why is there such a discrepancy, why is the sentence seemingly automatically lower if the defendant knows the woman? Just seems like that absolutely shouldn’t matter, whether they went on a date or 2 first – like Megan did – they brutalised these women for pleasure and murdered them.
This vile man using a sexual PTSD defence is absolutely abhorrent. RIP Megan
I’m all for changing the prison system, rehabilitation focus and all that, not for the death penalty at all, despise the US system but fuck me, this was a pretty clear well thought out systematic murder, put this cunt away for the rest of his life with no potential release.
