The Beauty of Donegal

  1. I was in my late 20s when I first visited Donegal. Fell in love. Now I’m over there 3-5 times a year.

  2. There was a great post here years ago about an Irish lad who brought his American missus home to the west coast to see family. At the end of the trip she said she wanted to go on a beach holiday soon.

    He goes:

“But you were just at the beach? We went there for a day out.”

“No I mean like an actual beach where I can get a tan. Not an Irish beach where Widows go to stand in all black thinking about their dead husbands.”

Probably the most accurate description of the Western coast I’ve heard. Great spot.

  3. Lovely pics thanks.

Those Eagle statues people used to put on the piers of their gates in the nineties dont look very good in the last pic though, seriously tacky.

  4. Reminds me of the scene from the Stephen King show the Langoliers where they were trying to get the plane back up in the air before the airport got rolled up by the monsters who ate the past. 🙂
