I bought an old bowl and it has an inscription on it, I believe in Bulgarian, is anyone here able to translate it for me? I believe it may have something to do with the town of Teteven in Bulgaria. Thanks very much

  1. It’s name initials and a family name that roughly translates to “Quiet-ov”. The Quiets family. xD

And yeah, Teteven is the town.

  2. It says that you need to give me your credit card number, the expiration date and the three numbers on the back.

  3. T. N. Tiholov

    Teteven

Under it you can read some text in Latin –

    Tihol . N. Tiholov

    Peintre (?) Ucur (?)

    Teteven Bulgaria

  4. This is likely the craftsman who made that bowl.

My family comes from Teteven. I can ask around if someone knows the guy (or his family). Out of curiosity, where are you from and where did you get that bowl? It seems to be an object that has an interesting story behind it.

  5. Probably Tiholov is the name of the factory or person who made the dish and as the people above said – Teteven is a town in Bulgaria. Probably that’s manually craft made souvenir from that town 🙂
