Cypriots, how do you view the East Roman Empire, Kingdom of Cyprus, Republic of Venice, the Ottoman Empire and the British Empire, which ruled Cuprus once? Also, how would you rank them?

Greek Cypriots view the Byzantine empire as our cultural heritage and the rest as conquerors
I would rank them all as oppressors
britain land very good, nice british man with pipe and trilby hat mad sexing with my great grandmother and i am proud to be british and enjoy pale white skin white privelage in society
Cyprus may have survived Ottoman Rule if it was never bought out by the Venetians and stayed backed by the pope and Catholic powers.
1191 worst year
Worst would be a tie of the Brits and ottomans
well we are thayght that the byzs alongside Alexander the great are the only time Cyprus had its rightful place on the country with its culture and hagemony and all the others brutal enslavers and conquerors. so next question
If you ask my mom who is from Cyprus, she’s not a fan of any of them. She’s a “no kings, no masters” type person.
Hey! The lusignans are missing!
good, meh, meh, bad, bad
Byzantines were the only good ones because they were Greek speaking amirite?????
Even though they were doing exactly the same as other colonisers.
I’d say Eastern Rome was my favorite, though we were ruled by many more powers other than those listed. Mycenaeans, 10 kings of Cyprus, Ptolemaic Egypt (though we were mostly independent and just vassals), Phoenicians, Assyria, Pre Hellenic Egypt briefly, the Umayyads and the Achaemenids. What was interesting is that we were sorta co ruled for a bit by the Eastern Romans and the Umayyads thanks to Justinian the second.
