There’s a bunch of lads going up and around Knocknarea in Sligo as many times as they can in 24 hours, until the sun rises on the winter solstice, in aid of Pieta House and Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team. They set off at 8am this morning and are making great progress with a good few laps in already, but it’ll be getting dark soon and they’ll still be plugging away at it through all 15 hours of the longest night of the year.
I know times are tight right now, but if you can, think about dropping them a few euro through the idonate link, or if you are in the area and you feel like stretching your legs, feel free to go and give Richard, David, and Mick a bit of a clap, they’d be pleased to see a friendly face. And if you’d like to come along and see the sunrise on December 21st at Queen Maeve’s Cairn to welcome in the longer days with the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team, we’d be delighted to have you there with us.
