As has been pointed out elsewhere, Belfast hasn’t built a ship in 20 years and now focuses on renewable energy of wind and wave power. This is a political decision, a sop to Ulster Unionism’s heavy-industry machismo and military-fetishism. And now there are no ship builders I hope they have rooms for all the agency workers that will be brought in to bring shipbuilding back to Belfast.
