Wait a minute. You can’t even get a booster shot in the NL unless you were born before 1950 right? This does not seem to make sense, certainly not timeline wise. No way everyone can get a booster before Feb 1st.
Edit: Thinking about this they probably mean that from the 1st of Feb your cert is only valid if you last shot was less than 9 months ago. Still, not great “messaging” I think.
The title is grossly misleading. It’s not really the Netherlands that is doing this, but it’s a joint decision by the EU to limit the validity of the vaccination certificate of people who haven’t received a booster to 9 months after the last dose starting from February.
Originally, the EU wanted this requirement to kick in sooner, but the Netherlands objected because they’ve been comically slow at starting the booster rollout. This new date is a compromise between the Netherlands and other EU nations.
