‘Camel flu’ warning from doctors as England fans return from Qatar

  1. Plently of pundits have been coughing away during coverage there. The world mixing + Aircon everywhere is an ideal place for things to spread

  2. They are talking about MERS, which is a properly nasty bug and kills a large percentage of people who get it

Thankfully it’s now been endemic in the region for about a decade, you have to be literally a camel handler to get it and even then it’s not that transmissible

Camel flu is not coming back home, it’s bullshit

It would already have done so with all the travelers for work years ago if it was going to and I doubt many fans went and spent a month working on camel farms to catch it

What people have is a cold, a mix of lots of air conditioning and bugs from all around the planet to produce a kick ass cold, probably some covid thrown in as well

    But it’s not MERS-CoV

The world got lucky that that fucker doesn’t like to make itself easily transmissible, so farm
