Much as it is sad that injury has probably prompted or contributed to this, Johanna Konta always seemed to be someone embraced as British in the absence of anyone else remotely as good at the time who had been born here or otherwise was a British citizen. A bit like Greg Ruseski or Tiffany Porter who gained citizenship by marriage.
