  1. Just dont listen to mainstream “Swiss Rap”…

Mimiks, Phumaso & Smack, Möchtegang, Brandhärd, Nativ and Young Birdo are just a few, imo, good swiss Rappers.

  2. Can’t speak for the swiss german scene but the Romandie rap scene is (obviously, in my opinion) one of the most exciting and creative things in music right now!

  5. Thats not true, lots of good swiss rap and hip-hop out there, most of it is just a little bit older.

Brandhärd, Meister Lampe, Tafs, Dj Dimos, Bligg, Wurzel 5, Sektion Chuchichästli, Black Tiger, Steff la Cheffe, Taz, Chlyklass to name a few.

  6. There is a very interesting rise in swiss german (zurich area) underground rap to be experienced, if you set aside any bias that one can have nowadays, specifically artists like the following:

    – Feineboi (SKXXMVPLUG aka <3IGE) has a lot of inspiration from pluggnb, underground trap, alternative trap but also nicely uses different inspirations like brazilian phonk for his music, with his music being fully produced by himself. His very creative and unique beats already gained him a solid following as a SWISS independent artist. He worked with one of the biggest current german-speaking rappers, Caramelo and also fully produced a whole Album for him (Caramelo – Lebensarte), together with another independent artist and producer named 154salem.

    – Adrinalean is also a rapper, songwriter, artist and producer himself, a lot of his inspiration comes from the og underground scene in which $uicideboy$, Ghostemane and similar where a part of. Similar to Feineboi, Adrinalean also uses sounds and samples from his ethnic background (slavic). He is very versatile and has songs like you’d hear them from $B to Yeat. His music is rich in meaning, honest and straight to the point with lyrics talking about drugabuse, abuse in general, depression, selffulfilment and so on. This is not everything, as his love for art and music is so vast, he also has ambient-like songs that are very different from his other work.

$akura (aka ilovesakura, aka PERKY MAN) is also a independent artist, very rich in creativity and personality like the previous mentioned ones. The difference being him rapping in english and german, depending on the song/project. With his persona “$akura” he brings songs that are prosperous in meaning, rapping about mental health and issues that come with it while also combining lyrics that mention the hustle-lifestyle which is needed nowaday to “succeed”. Despite what he raps about, he never fails to bring a specific vibe and energy to the table with his songs having catchy hooks, easy-to-follow lyrics with tons of meaning and a high energy work ethic. His alternative persona “PERKY MAN” is a very interesting twist to his art as this persona daps into satire-like sound, with intense wording and mostly in modern westernized swiss-german which makes songs from PERKY MAN funny and very catchy.

  7. I know a Swiss rapper and we have an agreement that I’ll roast him for his shit music, but still acknowledge how he’s successful with it.

  8. So i’m sitting here since 5h (aka since posting time)… I’m seeing the same answers how X, Y, Z are amazing. Maybe they are maybe not. Certainly not according to my liking. And I am not going to complain.

I’m going to piggyback on this thread and ask people looking: do you have swiss rap on old school beats that you would recommend? Pure rhymes, good lyrics, no autotune, loops from vinyls from 30-80s… boombap, oldschool, true school. In Schweezerdutsch. I dont care which dialect, Wallis or Romandie, sure. Gimme good rap. No autotune and hot babes, can be 19 views on YT.

    Gimme some.

Edit: to the clubbing-scene people, most likely that’s not what I’m looking for. If you can dance to it, that’s not it. Old beats, good lyrics, and natural pure singers voice

Edit2: and i’m super happy to listen to it.
