  1. The food in America is fantastic but it’s certainly below France and Belgium.

But Poland and Germany?!?! I spent a week in Germany this year and it was some of the worst food I’ve ever had.

  2. As an American frequently traveling to Belgium, I don’t understand how Belgium is this low lol. Stoofvlees en frieten met een bitje karmeleit ook is an all time great combo hahaha

  3. At least we beat the Dutch

Also the Philippines above Thailand? Maybe it’s just me being ignorant but the Philippines feels like it’s the England of South East Asia when it comes to food ranking

  4. The source: https://www.tasteatlas.com/best/cuisines. The order was apparently determined by “audience votes”. 40% of the site visitors are from the USA, 12% from the UK, 6% from Canada, source: https://www.semrush.com/website/tasteatlas.com/overview/

It’s also not comparing which country has the best restaurants, but which “cuisine” that the site visitors consider best. So imagine Americans visiting restaurants in their own country that market themselves as having a certain cuisine. French cuisine restaurants are so ubiquitous in many countries that they’re usually not marketed as “french restaurants” in those countries, but just as “restaurants” (just like in Belgium). Add in some clueless Americans voting and you end up with that nonsensical list.

  5. List is relatively accurate, belgian food is not particularly special and even the brits have great stuff like cornish pasties though theyre relatively few and far in between
