Did you ever hear of Swiss steak? Is it supposed to be “Saftplätzli”?

  1. The steak gets „swissed“, which means needled, or hammered with the spike side of a meat mallet. This has nothing to do with Satfplätzli.

  2. It’s just the Americans coming up with random names for mediocre dishes as usual.

    Having said that, it’s basically braised beef round, so I’m sure it’s good. Not very elaborate or complex, but it’s simple recipe intended for the people who don’t how to cook without a crockpot.
