This is the second article I have just read were someone has been offered a massive reduction in jail time in exchange for paying back some of the proceeds of their crime.
Surely if they made money illegally and they still have it, they should be forced to give it back anyway?
Why would that reduce their sentence?
And why should he have the option to keep the £6m in exchange for 8 years inside? A lot of people might think that was a pretty good deal, especially if he only has to serve half of the time.
