Disclaimer: my gf was born and raised in Belgium and has dutch as her mother tongue. Hell, she even teaches dutch at school. This is just a private conversation and the way we speak in our private texts does not reflect in any way, shape or form outside of these convos. It’s a little inside joke which has become our standard way of conversing when not discussing serious business.
She isn’t really that wrong, at this point you have so many different rules and “vakjes” that it is becoming “vogelpik” of what you receive.

Ive been in the workforce for 3 years, the Exact same situation, the Exact same job, no differentiating factors AT ALL and yet these were my taxes last 3 years:
Y1: received 600 euros
Y2: paid 200 euros
Y3: received 400 euros
No idea how thats possible
