Going to Dubai kinda removes my sympathy for any sentencing you get. Sucks that it is an excessive punishment but they knew when they went that it was an oppressive country. They have slavery still, of course they won’t give fair punishment for breaking their laws.
CBD oil is illegal in the UAE. You’d think if you were going there, you’d check up on the legal status of the stuff.
Exactly why I was terrified to go to Dubai. My birth control was illegal. Technically they wanted a note from the attorney general and my doctor if I were to have brought it in legally. And my husband did the stupidest crap ever and had his ADHD meds—that are helllllla illegal.
Also realized I had to ditch my photo history book I was reading bc it contained photos of historic nudes and could get me thrown in jail for porn.
Don’t even get the appeal of going in the fist place. I was there on business. I will avoid it moving forward.
Never go to Dubai. Its a hellhole filled with human rights violations and authoritarianism. Don’t let the glitz and glamor fool you. Its all paid for in blood.
Put me in jail for 20 years for Vape Oil and I’ll stay there another 60 for murder.
I don’t think we should engage with these cases. We’ve pressured everywhere world wide to follow our bullshit drug policies. Now we’re asking for our citizens to be exempted just because they’re ours? A local gets a draconian policy and we cheer. That’s BS.
