What we’re judges before becoming judges?? Solicitors.
Solicitors practices are full of brothers, sons, fathers, nephews etc
These personal injury claims are a gravy train for the legal profession
There’s a vested interest in the legal profession including judges in keeping the gravy train rolling along given that a large portion of any settlement goes on solicitors fees.
No wonder insurers seek to settle and not defend claims when there is a loaded deck against them.
>Adjourning the case for 15 minutes, Judge O’Callaghan told Mr Hogan that
with any documentation to be shown to court, there was a procedure to
follow and it must be followed.

>Fifteen minutes later, after settlement talks in the case, Ms Mullins
and Mr Hogan came back to court and Ms Mullins told Judge O’Callaghan
that the case could be struck out and asked that the court vacate any
cost orders made previously.

It seems to read like Mr.Hogan had information showing a ring of fraud, and after he showed it to the defence, they dropped the claim. Kinda lends weight that what he had was correct.
> Ms Stratton – who previously lived in England – confirmed to Mr Hogan that she had no knowledge of the existence of the fraud ring involving Romanian nationals and members of the Traveller community, as alleged by Mr Hogan.
There’s definitely a fraud ring. Looks like the barrister fucked up the procedure though. Incredibly unfortunate headline for him.
