I moved out of the dorm in September and hadn’t received any refund till now. After multiple emails, today the housing in charge replied-

The 90€ I was informed and that is fine, but when I left I was not informed of anything regarding the painting. Also, I only lived for 6 months and left the room in perfect condition of which I have pictures also. Can I do anything? All my friends who left the dorm got back 310€ more than a month ago, while I’m the only one who has still not received the deposit and that too will just get back 25 euros. I had switched universities so I still hold student status and have access to AStA Support. What are my options?

Have you photos from when you moved in?
For me the room looks fine and you should object to the charges.
A landlord can not just keep your deposit. In case of a paintjob or other things that need to be repaired, he has to give you the chance of fixing this yourself and can only keep your deposit if you refrain from repairing or refit whatever might be necessary.
Do you have move record from when you moved out?
Can you talk to them in person?
They found a reason to paint it which u didn’t saw. If they do this on purpose, everyone would have a fine.
