Located in the region of Transylvania, Brasov is one of the most beautiful cities in Romania. It has Hungarian and Austrian influences, seeing as once, Transylvania was part of the Austria-Hungarian Empire.
One of my favourite cities there (at least the old town, not the commie era part). Saxons knew how to build. + the Tampa/Cenk/Zinne mountain next to it, what a scenery!
It was founded by teutonic order in 13th. century as Corona or Krunen. Later Siebenbürger Sachsen built the city out and it became Kronstadt. The people who where called Saxons however, came from what Today is western Germany and Netherlands.
The influences therefore are less Austrian but rather Frankish.
I shipped server racks there lol. Nice city.
nothing to do with austrians or hungarians. built by german colonists scamed by the hungarian king to move there, only to be raided by mongols, impalers and turks every fucking year. romanian(vlachs) were not allowed inside the city walls
Thanks for the history lesson. It was really important to mention the city was “influenced” by the austrio hungarian empire. Who knew…
Romania doesn’t have culture anyway so it important to mention from which culture they STOLE their ideas.
