  1. Desde mi punto de vista creo que sería de la península Ibérica, y ni eso, ya que la parte ibérica de Navarra no fue anexionada hasta 1524 y Portugal era un reino independiente. Bonitas imágenes, eso si

  2. It always surprises me how many people will go ahead and translate the names. They were Isabel and Fernando, not Isabella and Ferdinand!

I understand that’s how it may be represented in history books, but it sounds like an inaccuracy to me. You know them by one name, then other people call them something different, and that sounds wrong. They aren’t made-up concepts like Santa, they were actual people.

Imagine if your name was Mike and introduced yourself as such, then the other people immediately replied “Hello Miguel, nice you meet you!”. Bro who the fuck is Miguel? The name’s Mike.

  3. This is an event which is of particular interest to me… so much so that I have a framed version of the last painting hanging in my room

  4. When I was in Kuwait I saw these names of places like Al Andalus, Granada etc… Interesting take from Spain.

  5. I recommend this BBC documentary. It will help to give you the historians perspective. The “reconquista” concept was an invention of the catholics in times of Franco dictatorship. Also helps to explain characters like “ El Cid Campeador”. The history is far richer, deeper and complex that you could imagine and the influence in Europe is far greater than you would think.
