The party of personal responsibility blaming someone else for the consequences of their actions…….Again.
Tories have been “inflicting harm” on workers for years.
Turn about seem fair to me.
Tories try to pass the buck again. So much for a new government of accountability.
Someone who made a choice that public sector pay was not a priority for 12 years is discovering that choices have consequences.
This is low even for a Tory. There’s no way this kind of narrative is going to help come to a resolution.
Tories yell “why are you hitting yourself?” as they continue to hit the UK.
The relevance of anything the tories have to say is just dropping off a cliff. Every time one of them speaks it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a lie.
The government’s stance is that pay rises will cause inflation (they won’t, as any economist will tell you) and that the pay review board is entirely independent and their recommendations are always accepted (they’re not, and they haven’t been).
On this morning’s Today programme Barclay refused to answer a question about how many times the current government have rejected pay review board’s recommendations (it’s 4 times). He also has no idea what figure ambulance workers are even demanding, such is his level of ignorance and complacency.
We just cnt have high skill high productivity people earning poverty wage to lower middle class wage. For all the talk this is trickle down economics, no one cn buy anything anymore.
This goverment always chooses to demonise people rather than talk to them. I’ve used the NHS for two years for cancer treatment and I’ve seen countless cancer nurses leave.
Actually the Tories have been happily inflicting harm on the NHS and patients with a decade of underfunding.
Anyone who votes for these bunch of tossers in 2 years time is a useful idiot
The only way to resolve dispute is through negotiation. A government refusing to talk to the trade unions, is abdicating its responsibility and letting the entire country down. I cannot believe that Ministers and Tory representatives are trying to blame the unions for their lack of professionalism! The bottom line is that the Conservative government is failing in its duty. It makes the argument for Independence in Scotland, Wales and NI, even more stronger!
Oh fuck off. It’s the government doing what they set out to : run down the NHS so they can sell off to one of their cronies. They don’t care that people will die.
Cunts.
I would say that due to the mitigations our trust has put in today patients are getting seen sooner than normal. People die due to government shortcomings daily, because management have made an extra special effort to address issues for the strikes we’re getting to people really quickly in my trust today.
Tomorrow though… that will be a different story.
Too important to not be able to strike but not important enough to pay well
The government is playing chicken with patient’s lives except it has nothing at stake itself. They know they’re going to lose the next election. So at this point they are probably enjoying the strikes. “Go ahead, make the NHS even worse than we already did.”
Lots of people (lots more people) will die because of this. The Tories don’t care and probably think it’s a good thing, just like with their drug abstinence program that considers anyone leaving the program to be a success, including if they die of an overdose.
I think part of the problem is that people think of the Tories as regular folk with compassion, they can’t fathom how little they care. But it’s all a game to them. Someone dying in a hospital corridor after waiting 36 hours for treatment is good if it undermines support for the strikes. They probably high five each other over it.
Steve Barclay needs to be asked what salary and payrise he and other MPs got without striking. And why so much money going to other countries instead of looking after our own…??????
From a member of the political party that has decimated funding for our health service. Twat. I hope he gets warts.
Steve Barclay and his government are thones inflicting harm on patients. And the BBC should be asshamed of themselves for parroting their propaganda bullshit.
Keep going, nurses and ambulance workers. Bring England to his knees.
THEY OFFERED TO STOP THE STRIKES IF YOU JUST AGREED TO TALK TO THEM AND YOU SAID NO YOU CHRONIC LYING BASTARDS
“Ungrateful slaves, can’t they see how much these whips cost?”
Tory ministers making damn sure that the Tories don’t just get thrashed at the next election, they get absolutely decimated.
