UN vote to seek ICJ opinion on Israel’s occupation of Palestine

  1. It is outrageous how so many European countries abstained or voted against this resolution, particularly when the new government of Israel has openly declared to enhance the violence and pressure over the Palestinians.

I know the conflict between Israel and Palestine is a difficult subject, but this motion was not about choosing a side. Europe has the obligation to promote its values to the rest of the world.

  2. Abstaining as far as I’m concerned is the same as voting against. In fact it’s even more cowardly. At least those who opposed are at least honest about it.

Anyone who thinks the Israeli settlements are just, moral or legal need to have a serious word with themselves. Proud of my country for standing against occupation.

  3. I’m glad we voted against here. The double standards regarding Israel compared to pretty much every other state in the world are pretty astonishing. I have some issues with several members of the new government of Israel and some of their new policies as well, but they don’t call for any UN resolutions or ICJ investigations.
