We already did this with Ukrainian refugees, it’s not a new idea. Worked well as a temporary measure but very expensive in the long term.
A better idea might be to process asylum claims much, much more efficiently. Eg in France. Or in the UK, but within a month at most.
Just do you job and process them. Stop mucking around with whacky ideas so you can posture about being tough.

There’s been more immigration to the Uk in the last 25 years than the 2000 years before that!!! It’s becoming a joke now. We can’t house everyone, & while I won’t be voting reform the left wing ignorance & arrogance towards this will push more people to vote that way. Maybe follow Australia and make it so arriving illegally by boat means you can’t claim asylum or ever get permission to remain. Where do we put 1000+ people arriving PER DAY?
