  1. Cuz I’ve got a brand new lunar oribter an’ I’ll give you the key,

Come on now let’s get together in zero gravity,

Cuz I’ve reached apoapsis and you’ve reached apogee,

Now I’ve got a brand new lunar oribter an’ I’ll give you the key.

  2. I was initially surprised as Cornwall is a pretty crap location to launch into space from being around 50 degrees north (and with a lot of stuff to the east) and Baikonur at 45 degrees north is still considered less than ideal.

There’s a reason Cape Canaveral (28 degrees North) was used despite the weather.

But it looks like it’s more about launching a plane heading South West to get to a more appropriate launch spot

  3. Incredible. I live here and usually the news is ‘man arrested for masturbating naked except for Wellington boots.’ And now we get a SPACEPORT? I hope it has a W. C. Rowes…

  4. Glad to see some investment in Cornwall!

Newquay Airport has a rather impressive runway for such a rural and under utilised airport. It was strategically important during the Cold War. I do recall that during the Iraq invasion, a bunch of B52s did a refuelling stop in Newquay before flying on to the Middle East. That seemed so ludicrous to me as a young Cornish lad!
