It says “legally binding”, how exactly? If it’s not “the government officials get thrown in a jail cell” for not being met, then the consequences of failing to meet them will be ignored, most likely
We don’t need legally binding targets. We need regulatory changes from multiple legislation that fundamentally changed our construction practices, holds landlords to a much higher standards, material passport for new builds, changes that make installing renewable energy sources easier, holding public transport to higher standards, ensuring that materials are not derived from highly polluting sources (such as petroleum based insulation), reducing particulate matter in our streets, and much more.
It’s pointless to have targets if they don’t provide the means to achieve them.
