This is an absolute disgrace. Heads better roll over this. I will no longer be able to support the IRA if they associate themselves with Leinster rugby.
Brilliant. They’ll hang the DJ now 🤣
Very obviously a mistake, given they cut it mid-track.
Ah would they fuck off. This pandering to brits is off the scale.
As the chief of staff of the new IRA I cannot wait to berate Leinster Rugby via song and dance on Tiktok.
Can see a lot of journalists who went knives out for the women’s team staying quiet on this.
No need to apologise. The idea we should be ashamed of the people who gave us a free country is insane.
Up the Ra.
You know – I think apologising over this song is going too far. I think there should be push back to be honest, people listening / singing it don’t support the IRA.
Gonna leave this here. Second captains live show discussing the song and chants of up the Ra with Brian kerr and Una mullaly.
Much wider talking points of it’s just a song and interesting listen. I’ll get downvoted and the podcast won’t be listened to for linking a piece with Una in it and why there’s negative sides to it but there’s more to it than all that.
Despicable not because of how I feel personally about them playing this song, but because of how it makes Ireland appear to people outside the country.
They need to be educated
Ah, another Celtic Symphony debate. 2023 off to a great start

FFS it’s a song, it’s only a bit of craic.
I understand the IRFU had to be told up the 50’s to stop playing ‘God Save the Queen’ as anthem.
As they say in Scotland, ‘gees peace’.
Yawn
What’s the problem? Leinster is Irish?
Can’t we enjoy being us anymore?!
I am sick of Irish people having to apologise for singing Irish songs no one else apologises fuck the soft snowflakes who get offended by everything
Olivers Army is played on Irish radio all the time. I tried to find a clip of the poor girl I saw apologising to Jeremy Paxman about a similar incident.
I’m sure it is pretty galling to be in the stand supporting your team and this picks up. It is ignorant as sin. I wouldn’t like it, and it would piss me off. You want to sing a nationalist song learn The Wearing of the Green.
Clearly shows the Republic sure as hell ain’t ready for a UI.
p.s to the people downvoting, can you please give points to suggests otherwise ?
Be ashamed of your country you peasants!
This will go the same as all the other threads. People will come on and explain the impact the IRA had in the 80s and 90s. They will be downvoted to oblivion and called brits/orange men etc etc
Then the same people who are saying the song is fine and giving out that anyone might be offended will be up in arms next week when someone in another county refers to ireland as part of the British Isles.
Stop apologising for our fucking culture
I’m a brit who is proud of our forces who helped liberate France from Nazi rule. I do not mind anyone being proud of chucking us out, even though we weren’t the Nazis.
That said, I don’t sing songs about bomber command when I want a feelgood moment. Even though they did an important job.
My five pence.
Ta me isteach an RA.
It’s just a song about Celtic football club. I don’t understand why there is such outrage about this song all the time..
Alright Munster, show us what ye got
Of course they apologized.
They’re adults and not kids on reddit
No sky sports interview this time to confuse matters
Don’t see how playing the Celtic Symphony is so bad, it has a few lines that say “Ooh ahh up the RA” and that’s it, it’s a song about a Scottish football club for fuck’s sake
