I just did it earlier and saw I’ve an overpayment of 170 somehow. Delighted with myself as this month is going to extremely long being paid monthly
Just a word of advice, EVERYONE should be checking to see if they’ve any overpayment, this year my parents are owed €700 overpayment, and that’s without applying the tax credits they’re entitled to that brings them to an almost €3,500 refund. Also if you’re a normal PAYE person, tax returns are easy to do yourself, once you read everything and do a little research, don’t pay hundreds on having these tax rebate companies do the work for you. It’s all so easy to do, if you’re honest you get what you’re owed and won’t have troubles.
Key tax credit entitlements I will outline to look at,
– Home Carers Tax Credit
– Rent Tax Credit
– Health Expenses Tax Credit* Applicable to many
– Flat Rate Expenses Tax Credit*
Of course, depends on each persons situation and also depends on whether they’re jointly assessed or not. Either way, research your entitlements to see if others apply to you.
I just checked and I am owed €420 for 2019, I could have missed it, everyone should definately check
Just checked and am told I have an overpayment of 3.3k for 2022
How precise are the preliminary to end Statement of Liability?
Ergh, I owe €1100
I got a 1k overpayment, great way to start the year ☺
It’s asking me for receipts of medical expenses, but I never kept them… is a bank statement enough? Even though it just says ‘Tesco’ despite buying from the pharmacy?

These used to be such a ballache to do, even though I underpaid by 12c and was expecting a couple of hundred back this new automated system is great.
Looked at mine today, an overpayment of over 2,100. Only then was I adding medical receipts afterwards. Just hoping the wife’s illness benefit doesn’t ruin it as its listed under Additional Income, so may have to double check against her payslips to make sure it’s all right.
Pretty much have it spent already, happens every year!
Fuck! I owe €0.08 for 2022
Edit: I’m owed €45.63 for 2021!
How does the home carer tax credit work exactly? From reading the revenue site, you’re eligible if you have kids? Am I reading that wrong? If so I’ve been missing out on it for the last few years.

You can pay it back in installments.
