If you get five years in prison in Norway you must have done something very awful like tricking with you taxes or maybe tried to print your own money, god forbid.
Lots of people don’t understand the true benefits of rehabilitation versus punishment and so have a childishly uninformed view of the actual effect on both convicted and society.
Hawing worked in a Norwegian prisson, I am very happy that I can leave within a few hours. Even if the cells can be pretty nice, depending on security levels, they are not somewhere I’d want to be locked up against my will.
