I get the sense they are telling a wee fib here. Trains are booked more than a few hours in advance staff are rostered weeks in advance.
This is why I don’t have much sympathy for people who claim their lives are being so disrupted by the rail strikes, on any day there’s a chance everything will be cancelled and delayed, but without weeks of notice to plan around it
