Very very sad news. Many hours of my childhood were happy because of this guy.
A publisher that shaped the childhood/teens of several generations, not sure how significant they are anymore but they seemed to have a knack for finding the best stuff in the 80s and 90s.
edit: shut down 2012, from the article.
Thanks for the memories Ian, you legend.
Side note, it’s nice to see Kim Justice video on that article. She’s done quite a few long videos into various companies / computers and I’ve enjoyed them all.
RIP. Even just *Lemmings* would be a massive legacy, but there’s so much more than that as well.
RIP. Loved their games like Colony Wars, GPolice, etc.
Some of my happiest hours were spent in front of an Amiga playing Psygnosis games. RIP.
Their owl logo and that street art style font is vividly imprinted in my mind. I must have seen it a lot when I was growing up! RIP my dude, I had a lot of fun because of you.
Fizzy noggis! There’s a name I hadn’t thought of for a while. I remember the awesome side scroller Walker.
Wipeout was my first ever 3d game.
RIP to a talented, talented man. Thanks for blowing my mind.
Damn that is a big loss…..
I was a huge Psygnosis fan Colony Wars, G-Police, even one of the first PSX games I played, Lomax and of course Wipeout.
I don’t know how many hours I spent playing _Discworld_ as a kid, but given that I habitually hum the background music that plays along Short Street when I’m concentrating on something, I would say: probably too many. Thank you, and RIP.
Destruction Derby is the main game I remember their logo from… I loved that game so much.
>Psygnosis
Man that Owl logo is burned into my head. Used to have an Amiga500+ with a huge box of pirate floppies (and of course plenty of legit games!). Good times
That logo remains one of the best. Never had a bad thing to say about Psygnosis games.
He was responsible for Shadow of the Beast 2, which is probably one of the most masochistically difficult games I’ve played.
I grew up on a load of their games, it’s incredibly sad how they just faded away and their legendary IP forgotten.
Sad to hear, I remember being completely amazed at seeing Barbarian when I first bought my ST.
Largely responsible for my love of Psygnosis/Roger Dean artwork. That and their consistently high quality graphics made them a standout developer and publisher in the 16-bit era.
RIP. Your influence was hugely under-appreciated by the non-gaming masses.
Anyone else remember lifeforce tenka? Their FPS for the PS1
This genuinely made me a bit sad. It’s crazy to think that a complete stranger helped bring so much joy into my life as a kid.
Me and my Amiga thank you for years of fun and entertainment.
For those not in the know, the YouTube channel NoClip will be launching a doc soon about DMA Design (so expecting a good chunk on Lemmings)

Still get chills from [this intro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bgm-9yLsLo) for Shadow of the Beast.
