Herts Tory councillor issues definitive statement after probe into antisemitic abuse against Labour rival

  1. Oh no there can’t be antisemitism in the Conservative Party all the nasty “isms” were removed with that report Boris’s chums completed. Only Labour has nasty “isms” now. I await the Jewish Chronicles campaign against this antisemite as they were against a previous Lib Dem councillor at Herts. This council has form and so does the Jewish Chronicle

  2. as often with racism claims, this is an extremely frustrating article which does not say what the actual antisemitism allegation really is. For example ‘involved installing a billboard advert outside a railway station’ – err so what? Was this billboard antisemitic? I highly doubt it, but if yes then surely it is pivotal to the article to say why, not follow it up with ‘..who is Jewish, faced antisemitic trolling online from members of the public’ – so in other words the people could have been anyone with any motivation (e.g. extreme right), but very likely not to do with the billboard..

All I can discern is a vague suggestion that the Tory may have sparked antisemitic attacks, but why that is was not made clear.

If he made pointless references to a candidate being Jewish, then yes that could be the case, but did he do this? When? how?
