  1. Just to summarise this.

James Reid deliberately drove his car into a cyclist leaving him with a broken pelvis and vertebrae. Following the incident, he turned his phone off and drove home.

Despite being convicted of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, James Reid walked with a suspended sentence,

    Sometimes I can’t believe what I’m reading!

If you attacked someone with anything but a car and caused this kind of injury you’d be jailed.

Hit and run too. Does that not have consequences?

  2. Surely you mean incarceration under the same jail term it would have been had the assault been with a machete or barbed-wire baseball bat?

  3. An early bed time?

    Harsh.

What’s the point of even prosecuting these people if the courts provide literally no punishment?

  4. There’s no such thing as “the red must” in psychology, it’s utter bollocks.
If this person is saying they’re prone to bouts of anger, then they should overcome that with therapy before getting in a car, adult responsibility and all that.

  5. Should be attempted murder not dangerous driving.

If you ram a human body with a vehicle you *know* there’s an elevated prospect of killing them. All people know this. No reasonable person can believe this is an acceptable way of responding to any situation.

  6. Your daily reminder that if you want to attempt to kill someone, just do it in a car. You’ll get a slapped wrist at best.
