  1. The Servicio Nacional de Regiones Devastadas y Reparaciones (SNRDR) was an organisation created during the dictatorship of General Francisco Franco in Spain. After the end of the Spanish Civil War, it was renamed the Dirección General de Regiones Devastadas y Reparaciones in August 1939. It was particularly involved in the reconstruction of towns and buildings badly damaged by the war, often using the forced labour of Republican political prisoners in the Workers’ Battalions (Batallones de Trabajadores).

This particular plaque comes from Tarancón, Cuenca, and was installed after a munitions deposit exploded on July 26th 1949, killing 30 people and causing damage to thousands of homes.
